99+ factory used a switched ground to activate while prior thermal used a switched 12v. Not until dorman tech support shared their upgrade harness instructions did I confirm that the empty pin on 99+ is actually to use switched 12v. GM must have intended it to be easily backwards compatible. Except also the need for a spacer(old socket worked perfect). Just needed to move the pin over. And run ignition switched 12v from tcase switch

This is a member supported forum. That means, that we all own or have owned a GMT400. This give us some knowledge of these vehicles, form having to repair them. There are a few members who are now, or used to be techs. We are not, a tech supported repair Q&A service. Maybe some one here has an answer for you, and maybe not, but you are talking about a custom swap, that most people have not done. It may take a while to get an answer to your question. Also, information is a must when posting. GM out many different differentials in there vehicles. Just identifying the year, and that it's a Cadi differential, doesn't narrow down just what it is. Is the Cadi diff, the same gear ratio as the rear diff your have now? Are they both GM 10 bolts? Do some research, and ID what you have now, and that will make it easier for someone else to reply to your question.

Dorman instructions posted above have enough information to wire electric actuator. Or get their adapter harness
