I'm having a hard time finding that Supersteer idler support. I saw one on ebay but it was at $350. I had a link to one I saved from on this site but now it doesn't show up on Supersteers site. Did Supersteer stop making them for our trucks?
Uh-Oh
Better get ‘em while you can. How bad do you want a Lifetime bell crank?

Go directly to the source. They may have one on a shelf in their alignment shop. And no they aren’t cheap but it’s worth it.

Went to SuperSteer and they don’t even acknowledge part anymore. Fortunately I have one.

i see people talk well about MEVOTECH TXK line? are AC delco professional any good? i don't see an AC delco OEM line for the balljoints, unless I'm missing something. does MOOG really suck now?
Agree with others about Mevotech. Just did the tie rod ends on my '98. O'Reilly's carries them under their house brand "Precision Chassis".

These days it's a crap shoot in getting decent replacement parts. Name brands (like MOOG) don't guarantee quality anymore ...especially now that 95% of aftermarket parts are made in China and Mexico. And some of these "global" companies have factories all over the world ...so you need to read the box. Perfect example: WIX filters ...located in North Carolina ...a US company making *all* their filters in the USA ...fell under the ownership of Mann & Hummel ...a German filter manufacturing company ...with production facilities located around the globe.

To be fair, Mevotech parts I have are manufactured in Taiwan, but that’s actually not a bad thing. Taiwan “currently” is not China.

I wish I would’ve videoed it before I fixed it with the brackets. The idler arm and pitman allow the center link to go somewhat back and forth. Maybe an 1/8 of an inch. By moving slightly back and forth it was pulling the tie rods in or out slightly. I know it sounds like wore out parts. I do not believe it was. I asked my nephew whom I sold my old 95 tbi to to get under it and take a look. He said he could replicate the same thing. Mostly on the passenger side.

Forgive me figuring out comm., at almost 40 yrs old this is the closest to social media I’ve ever ventured. I meant to put this post in response to an earlier one On this thread. I’ll get it. Eventually. Also I’ll put some pics of cognito stuff soon as I get a chance.
