Hey looking for advise for a problem with my gas 93 cheyenne 4x4 I've just been putting off for the last while. In the mornings or after work when the truck has sit for a few hours it starts and idles fine but if you put the pedal down fast it hesitates and chokes and doesn't want to speed up. After the engine gets up to operational temp or after you get past that initial struggle it runs fine all day pedal to the floor and all. Fuel pump or vacuum leak or what do guys think?

I know this is an old thread, but was wondering if OP figured out the solution because I'm having basically the same issue. After initial start up when engine is cold or after sitting for a few hours, truck will hesitate and bog down with the initial acceleration, then runs fine afterwards.

Connect a scan tool, verify EVERY sensor and computer output.

Verify fuel pressure.

How old are the usual "tune-up" parts--cap, rotor, plug wires, plugs, fuel and air filters, PCV valve, etc?

I have just started having the same issue with my 1998 C1500. Did anybody give you an idea of how to fix the issue?

Issue fixed! I had done a tune-up about 3k miles ago except for the fuel filter. Finally changed that and the hesitation is gone now. I also replaced a leaking fuel line between the filter and throttle body at the same time. The hesitation was there way before the leak started, so not sure if that old fuel line had anything to do with it or not. Bottom line is, the hesitation/bog is gone now.
