I considering a 93 2500 350 4x4 I found~

I also thought a 2500 would be 8 lug but this one is 6?

I've shopped pretty much years less than 94 due to all the electronics they've pilled on. ( fought 2 turbo diesels a 94 & most recently a 96~)

My question is what to look for in this model year and am I not right in bone stock form the "electronics" will be a lot simpler ?

I'm an old carburetor guy who prefers simplicity

I go to look maybe tuesday ~

Any input would be appreciated ~ Thanks

Ive kind of warmed up to OBDII engines but I have yet to renovate a OBDI or earlier. The 93 trucks still have quite a bit of electronics, its nothing like my 1963 c10 that has a 230 inline 6. That truck has like a few fuses and thats it, but I havent rebuilt it yet so i cant say simpler is better quite yet.

Yes I miss the good old days of carbed 4x4' & have had a handful. I truely beleive elctronic computers can make a truck "better" but certainly not more dependable.

When a TBI is running well it is great and reliable but can turn into a parts shotgun approach when it starts acting up.

I have a 93 also and its a reliable work truck that can sit for months and fire up and do what it needs to do when I call on it. But I have also fired the shotgun at it so most everything is new. And I havent tried to modify it at all, just stock replacement parts, I'm realistic in its performance and dont need it to roast tires or beat Camaros in the 1/4.

The 2500 6-lug will have slightly stiffer rear springs and a 14b SF rear axle over its 1500 twin.

Yes I should be scolded for buying the 2nd one...... my 6.2's were great however!
So the second one I had was actually a 6.2 with 6.5 heads and turbo, I bought it knowing it was hurt (I was lied to about the extent of the damage, and that's my own fault) and fixed it, realized it was never gonna be what I wanted it to be, and got rid of it.
If you're comfortable with wrenching on them and accept that they're never gonna be more than a light duty diesel, then I'm sure they can be a good platform. Just wasn't what I wanted. For me a big block is easier and more meets my needs.
