Yep, come on over and git down!Escape the cold in the North.
Damn. Those things (knee and cam) lessen the fun somewhat, hope you're still able to have a good time.Well, I'm pissed! The cam in my truck decided to grind down a couple lifters, we reset the preload close since the lifters were collapsed too. Started it up and it sounded pretty good, went to O'Reillys to get another PCV vacuum line. Came back, it started tapping more and. by the time we got home, it sounded just as bad as it did before. I'm parking it until I can research what all I need to swap to a roller cam. IDK if I wanna go with spider and dog bones, since my block is drilled for it (wish I knew that before I went with the flat tappet cam), or go with the cam and tie bar lifters kit. I don't wanna go through this BS again.
I've never had as much issues with flat tappet cams before until this one. Lunati has a good reputation, IDK if I got a batch of soft lifters or what. I broke in the cam properly and it doesn't look worn at all but the lifters sure are.
Oh well, we're still going to the git down but my truck isn't. I'll be walking around with a cane since I blew out my knee (Anterior Meniscus) a couple weeks ago. It hasn't been a very good couple of Months around here
We will for sure, it's always a lift to see neat trucks and chat with like minded folks! Plus, I gotta keep my son happy since he's gonna be doing most of the wrenching on my truck.hope you're still able to have a good time.
