Sounds like you are going a similar route. I used 2x2 and 2x3 in some places and uses 14 gage tubing with grade 8 hardware. I made the brackets complicated to the point where if any welds failed, then the way it is bolted together will keep it from coming apart. I could not use the center fold down seat as is and had to narrow it by 2 or 3 inches. I made it out of 2 center seats

I am right in the middle of this mod, I went a similar route and made 2" x 3" blocks, 18" long to adapt the old and new bolt holes and overcome positioning issues. This worked out really well for me, as the 2" rise in the seat makes them very comfortable for my long legs with the added benefit of not having to hack into the tunnel. The NBS seats are the left and right with the seat belt built in (very comfortable!) and the jump seat in between with the fold down armrest out of a pristine '03 and still in very good condition. I'm hoping this might catch the eye of some of our engineer types on here: I'm making the adaptors out of 2" x 3" tube steel with .187" wall thickness, should this be sufficient in terms of load and tensile strength in the event of an accident? Would love to hear opinions on this!
Do you have a pic of the passenger mounts?

Anybody have NBS seats in there trucks. NBS seats are easier to come by in good shape and I was wondering how much modification it would take to swap them out? I'd like to see what it looks like all set up. Pictures anyone?
1988 RCSB truck originally bench seat I just finished the seat portions of swap from 2013 truck using the factory outer seat bolt locations, only drilling 4 holes for inners. I’m 6’4” so leg and head room are important. Cut off the factory “legs” that are rivet to seat rails. 1 1/2” angle is bolted to both rails with countersunk head style Allen head bolts, manual seats bread small washers to between to allow seat adjustment. Outer factory bolts use 1 1/2” angle bolted to floor first, then it’s bolted to rail piece when seat is placed. Inner rails on both seats use 2” angle bolted to the piece of 1 1/2” on rail to reach stock inner locations that are drilled. Used flange head bolts/nuts for brackets and thru floor. The factory plastic trim pieces can be used easily to cover the outers, and once finished looks factory and that was my goal. I will post how the console/seat attaches later. Full build thread coming. Pics should help. Will try to post the finished trim pieces when I test fit last time before painting.

Hey, thanks for the info, doing my seats this weekend. It's been a while but did you ever post how you mounted the center console jump seat? I'm interested in seeing how you did it.

Noooooooo nbs seats are not as comfortable as obs seats!!! Especially gmt800 seats are way way less in that department and the power ones look cheaper than 400 power seats and have less function if I remember correctly 800’s are 6 way and 400’s are 8 way. But to each there own

I have not, been focusing on chassis and engine bay. I shortened the mounting legs so it would sit correctly over trans hump. Looks like I will be able to weld an extension/tab onto the four corners then bolt them to seat using the nut/bolt that holds the factory slide rail to my angle iron bracket. One of the pics shows that bolt next to the trans tunnel.
