On the air cleaner it shows the hose from the throttle connects to the thicker port, parts catalogue shows the opposite and the factory manual shows both options.
it's the heavy emissions model.

This should be REALLY SIMPLE. What size is the port on the throttle body? What size is the port on the EGR valve?

One set will be larger than the other set. Match the hose sizes--larger port to larger port on the solenoid. Smaller port to smaller port on the solenoid. Don't forget to unscrew the cap and check the filter.

"Most" TBI EGR solenoids have a crappy foam filter on a vacuum-nipple-looking protrusion; when the foam filter deteriorates and falls off, it's fairly easy to shove a vacuum hose onto the "vent" nipple instead of the proper vacuum-hose nipple. But your solenoid makes that impossible. I like that solenoid.
