Got those Timkens today-lots of rust on them but surface so not a problem-one stud is missing tho. Will prolly reuse one of my old ones when time comes to replace em.

Mine had some, not lots of rust. RockAuto description did say there would be some. I’d email RockAuto and have them send you a brand new stud. :deal: That wasn’t in the description!

Well I went to install the hubs I ordered, and one was definitely someone's old hub. 1/2" thick grime, already gritty out of the box. Pretty bothered by it, but of course I ordered them more then 30 days ago and they are out of the NOS ones now so they want to make it really hard to do anything. Anyone have an extra NOS passenger side bearing they want to sell me?

That's terrible! I'm suprised you didn't open the box as soon as you got it, Though. I'm always excited to look over new parts, like it's Christmas morning.

Are you saying the one pictured on the right is the one they sold you?

Yeah. I learned my lesson. Whether Amazon, eBay, Rock Auto, whatever. Never wait to open a package and inspect.

Oh, and also, with bottles of engine oil, etc., don't assume just because the plastic cap seal isn't broken that there isn't used engine oil in the bottle. Yup, you actually need to peek in or drip a little out to ensure it's new fluid. Best if you somehow do that while you're still in the store. Not sure how, but yeah.

People are shady enough to use the new engine oil, refill the container with their used engine oil, and return the containers for a refund. I used to work at an O'Reilly's. Happens everywhere though (for example).

That's right. I paid 60 bucks for the grungy, used hub in that photo. They are all sold out of the made in USA ones now too! Easiest fix would have been to buy another and complain about that one inside of the 30 day period.

Well, might as well do that still.... I mean a new non-US made hub is better than a worn out old hub.

If it were a rebuild, I'd suspect someone mishandled a core, but hubs aren't rebuilt that I know of...... I wouldn't mind trying it myself, if I ever got a press.
