My friend is a salesman at GMC and ran my vin #. There is an open recall that never expires. Apparently it has something to do with the transmission catching fire. I'm going to ask the service department about it monday and see if they can even get the part / parts needed

Seems as though this is simply due to the possibility of fluid from the vent hose (which is obviously flammable) being exhausted and landing on an exhaust component. I extended my tranny vent hose and have it routed up to where the front diff hose is on the rad fan shroud
