Yes I hope we can figure out what the problem is. Your truck is a half ton with vacuum booster and mine is a one ton with hydro boost but it seems like they are doing similar things. Crazy thing with mine, is it would go good first thing in the morning. If you need to get on the throttle, it would go, no hesitation. But when it's warmed up, different story....
The other confusing thing is, I used to have a 2500 square body Burb, TBI 350, turbo 400, with 4.10 gears, and it was always quick off the line. This one, you have to get on the throttle hard, to make it do that. Gear ratios in the '80 are probably different than the 400, but vehicle weight is similar.

Similar symptom for me as well. Cooled off drives normal warmed up or hot, acts like it's slipping. I got a scanner hooked up and ran engine rpm, tran torq conv slippage rpm live .. the tcc slippage is all over. I suspect it's out of spec. According to gm there's some slippage allowed but varies among cars trucks and suv ... but like shurkey said I want the misfire fixed first before I repair the trans

You've got ABS, it's just RWAL (rear wheel anti-lock) - the pickups didn't get 4WAL until 1995.

I'm gonna say your flex hoses are the likely suspect. You can pretty much confirm it by if the brake is currently locked up, crack the bleeder screw on the caliper and it should release. Might make a bit of a mess; you can attach a bleeder tool hose to the screw so you can direct the fluid away from your eyes, painted surfaces, etc.
