I've been on the fence on which direction I want to go with my exhaust...single out the side, duals tipped down, duals straight out the back, keep it as an axle dump???

Has anyone done a system straight out the back like Rams and some Fords have where the back bumper has half moon cutouts to tuck it up nice and close? I think there is enough room between the leaf springs and the hitch to do so. My last truck (had to sell because of divorce) had something very similar. Threw on Raptor end caps with 5" tips and it look really nice IMHO.

If you have done it/attempted it please let me know and post some pics while you're at it. :)

Thanks.

Pic of my old truck for some sort of reference of what I will be doing:

Well, not exactly, but here is what mine looks like. Yes, true duals out the back, with custom SST, tips that I built. As you can see, they are even with the receiver hitch, that came on the truck in 97. Also, yes I have AUX back up lights rite next to the SST tips.

A merge pipe helps power. An "H" pipe keeps the true dual sound just a bit less harsh and an "X" pipe raises the pitch of the exhaust note with a smoother sound similar to a an European car or a single exhaust. That's what I like.

The rear exits can put soot from the exhaust on your trailer if you do that sort of thing. Going out the side prevents that. I like to have the exhaust pointing out the passenger side and back at about a 45 degree angle so it points away from the drive thru speaker! It also makes it a bit quieter for the driver. But really it's personal preference.

Oh, and one more thing, Loud does not equal fast no matter what "My Buddy" says!

Have fun with it and tell us what you did and how you like it (or not)!

Not too worried about getting anything on a trailer since I use a dirt skirt when I do tow. I like a little rumble but DO NOT want drone at highway speed. Right now my system consists of deleted cats (I live in Canada so no emissions testing before someone jumps down my throat lol) into a 18" magnaflow muffler that I have dumping behind the rear axle. It sounds just about right and I think it will sound even better once I get the tailpipes and tips installed. Was just curious if anyone else has done it with cutting the bumper. Either way, this is the route I am going to take.

I saw a lowered one in a video of Dino's git down that had the pipes through the bumper and it looked good. I would take a screenshot of it if I could remember which one it was.

the 19-21 style have cutouts from the factory, I'm sure you could make it work if you like that look.
