Well, I'll be darn. I assumed all GM trucks had that wire. But you are right, I went to check my 5.7 OBS and I don't see it either. I could of sworn it was there somewhere. @Schurkey would know for sure.
I do see it on my 99, but that's the NBS. Here's what it looks like on the 99. Again, I'm assuming that's the one; I've never had to mess with it.

Yes, I think that's it! The jumper relay may be easier now that I see that.
OP, I hope it's something small and not your fuel pump. Those can get expensive and changing them seem to be a real chore.

What year did the pump go in the tank on burbs? My 95 in rail but it's a oil burner

It's in the tank on gas models, all 400s 92-99 afaik. And of course we'd just filled it up a few days before swapping trucks....

Do you know for sure you're hitting the bottom of the pump? I know where it is on my truck, but I don't know on the Suburban. When I had to give mine a whack, I used a rubber hammer.
