As an amateur welder, even my first weld looked better than that...
Had one on my Mazda B2200 truck in the 80s, did not help one bit when I took out a 90lb (Doe). Game food for thought, on your inquiry?

Uuugh! Pull the bed, cut out the rotted cross member, and weld in replacement?????? My welding skills are none, but I watch a lot of car resto shows. And I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Just picked up this longboi and hope to use it as a plow truck this winter and a general use work truck the rest of the year.
