Greetings from Colorado!
Recently acquired a new to me 1991 K1500 Silverado with only 50,000 miles and a freshly rebuilt manual transmission.

Wanted to contribute after lurking and reading on the forum for some time.

Been going through giving it some love after many years of sitting. Almost all fluids have been changed at this point. Fresh fuel filter.

I’d like to replace the steering box with a blue top and upgrade the brakes.
Bed coating is on the wishlist as well.

Scheduled project is rebuilding the TBI this winter to resolve any ethanol varnish buildup.

Looking to upgrade the headlights and setup a 4 Hi mod soon.

Sharp looking truck, welcome to the forum! Amazing to find a 31 year old truck with such low mileage, what's the story on it?

That was my take and why I snatched it up . So my neighbor bought it from a guy who was going to flip it until divorce happened. Neighbor found the trans 1st gear was toast and got the tranny rebuilt at a local shop.

The flip guy bought it from the lady who picked it up at the local dealership and was original owner. I think it was a Sunday (at most driver) and from the looks of fluids and accumulated plant matter and dirt in the door seals it say.
It has some holes in the stake pockets and bed like it was molested by some teenager to put attachments on it, plus the toasted 1st gear.

A whiskey dent or two and some scratches. Paint job would match the quality with the interior which is pristine.

Engine and drivetrain seems to be in good shape. Disgusting contaminated fluids were the worst issue by far. Fresh plugs and filters, some fresh fuel, and minor cleanup of electrical contacts seems to have it happy so far.

If those are OE headlights on your truck you might simply consider having them refinished.

This post and others that follow may be of interest.

Anyone used these headlights?

Absolutely. I was going to do the restore myself but while at napa scoring some bits to wire up a 4 prong connector for the hitch I installed, the counter guy mentioned a local fellow who does it in his shop.

Pull the lenses and he will sand polish and clear coat for $40 a pair. Planning on trying to get in and upgrade the wiring at the same time and do 4 Hi.
