Great to hear. Have you had a chance to put some miles on it?
Not really yet. Readjusting the rockers tomorrow, there are a couple a little noisy on startup. Finished changing all the drivetrain fluids. Want to get over to Buena Vista next week for a run up the passes and some open road.

Thanks for posting this thread, it’s been super helpful in figuring out on which way to go with my 7.4 build. Any changes in MPG since the upgrades?

I’ve not filled a full tank to accurately measure that yet, 32 gallon tank. Have about 700 miles on it so far. I was getting 14-15 mpg on the highway before the engine build at 65-70 mph. a 120 mile trip a couple days ago, I’m guessing I’m still at or just below that, but I can see the gauge move faster when I get into it. I expected that with the new injectors and tune. The butt dyno reads +100 hp.

some tidbits on the project: I started collecting parts long before I pulled the engine, shopped summit racing, rock auto, Amazon, and autozone, and a couple others. Saved a few here, $10 there, $50 there, and $200 somewhere else, probably saved $750 or so, and it was crazy to see parts go out of stock while in my carts. Supply chain issues are still going on. Some one time use tools saved time and R&R frustrations, even found them marked down on Amazon where someone returned them. If you think you’re going to need it get it, then return if not needed after all. chasing parts and tools when you’re working against time and elements is a pain. Loaner tools at o’rilleys and autozone saved money and time. Good luck on your builds

I misread your post after a long day of work. I can actually help you with the cam retard if your other guy ends up falling through.

I used Torque pro with the correct PID, and it worked great. I got mine dialed in to +1.8

The issue is there is very little adjustment room before the dist hits the intake manifold.

For what it's worth, I've heard if you swap the cam gear on the distributor 180* you can dial it into 0.0. Personally, I say as long as it's within spec, you're golden.
@Papablunt , looks like I could take you up on helping me set this, sent you a PM. thanks Gordon

Does anyone need these?
You must be registered for see images attach

You should (unless you replaced them with something better). One of mine fell off and I cracked a plug wire boot. It resulted in me crimping a new end on the wire and stealing a boot from a good used wire. With stock manifolds.
