Sanded and painted my rear inner rims, those tires are hot garbage, so I didn’t have to waste time taping them off.

I’m trying something different with the outers, if it works out, I’ll be sure to post it in the next couple days lol

Well, my idea didn’t work to my liking. I was gonna paint the outer ring of the wheels an aluminum metallic and the rest the dark smoke gray I’ve been using. I executed it well, but there wasn’t enough color contrast to make it look right, oh well, solid dark smoke gray it is.

However, I did manage to borrow a cherry picker for when I swap beds.

I also removed one of the tire valve stems so I could measure the hole for the stem so I could buy new ones. I wanted to add this post since I was unable to find this info anywhere online, but for dually wheels, the valve stem hole is just under 0.5”.

More sketchy Saturday shenanigans, I needed the get the old frame out from under the bed. Some advice, economy Harbor Freight straps are NOT the right tool for this lol. Now to cut up the frame so I can haul it to scrap with my rusty fleet side bed.

I don't know what your storage room situation is, but if it were me - i'd cut a couple chunks of that frame off, just to have the metal on hand for building stuff. That is good stuff.

Can’t seem to make much progress, it seems like I take 2 steps forward and then fall 5 steps back. I did manage to get my steer tires mounted on the dually rims. I was going to install my front rotors and calipers after work today, but I forgot cotter pins.

In the meantime, to seem productive, I scuffed and painted my clamping plates and degreased the bearings, washers and nuts…

Small steps forward are still progress.... I have to remind myself of this often! Like today, this morning we were going out to the shop early,to swap batteries in the Burb and truck, so the truck can be moved to the other driveway ( where it's parked now, can't get to it to jump start it or jack it up and check the front brakes). Then nobody woke up early and stayed awake, and there's been other things that needed taking care of too. So... tomorrow it is! I didn't buy that big SOB to have it decorating the yard!
