I do apologize for my ignorance, but I am extremely fascinated… what’s the difference from this to a regular c3500 crew cab dually? GMT 455…? I’m here to learn! Haha
Basically fits in the lineup between a C3500 and a Kodiak/TopKick. GM's nomenclature reuse is typically confusing, the 800 model C/K3500s became 3500HD trucks, introduced in 2001, but the 455 model ran through 02. So for 2 years you could buy a new C3500HD in two completely different body styles, 400 and 800

What's the wheelbase? Truck looks like a shorty here.

Or was it originally not a crew cab? The curvature of the frame makes it look like it was always a crew cab. Unless they just did weird stuff with this chassis.

171" is the Wheelbase I have measured. It is a factory cab conversion from 2 to 4 door. Any frame changes would be from GM.

Here's a couple of pictures I took last weekend,of a '98 C3500HD that's at the U Pull And Pay yard in southeast Houston.

What a beast of a truck, especially for the time. I'd argue though that the can and chassis wasn't too far off.

But this unit looks so much longer than the OP's.

This is not a GMT-455 chassis in my opinion...
Frame is smaller
no disk brakes
Perhaps an early model?
Or are the pics for comparison?
