That's good to hear, now that I own it I feel like I see OBS trucks and SUVs everywhere and none quite look like mine. All have the composite headlight grille and definitely none in Meadow Green Metallic. No on the tailgate/lift glass, It's got the barn doors. She's as plain as they come, Bench seat, crank windows, rubber flooring but its not all tore up. Reminds me of an old DNR truck. is your 3500 crew a dually? and that's awesome about the Lonestar round up i've heard great things but i've never made it that far for a show.
To be that un optioned, it probably was a fleet truck to begin with. And the less common colors are cool. Both my 99 Burbs were/are pewter; the VIN number report said that over 91,000 of the 283,000 '99 C1500 Burbs were pewter. Now the production year was longer that year, since the new body style hadn't been released yet. But 1 of every 3, one color; that's why I see myself coming and going ( especially when they were newer).
Lone Star Roundup is a great show, people and vehicles from all over the world come to it. Next year's event is the last part of April 2023. It was good to have it again, after it being postponed for two years because of the pandemic.

Another Suburbanite (C2500 5.7) here saying hello and echoing what's been said in the posts ahead of this one.
Really like the tone of the paint on yours. Looks good a bit darker than the usual but not so dark as the black ones where the glass disappears.

My crew cab is single rear wheels(it barely fits some places we have to go, I don't need a dually). If I do need a bigger rig, on very rare occasions, I know a couple of guys.....

Thanks, apparently this color was only available in 98-99 for the obs style vehicles. I have some under door rust and rocker rust cause MD sucks, once I repair it id love to respray and body match the fender flares

I was thinking that. whatever it was it's nice it wasn't all beat up or tampered with. The only thing aftermarket in the whole truck is a single din radio and door speakers. The back seat and third row look like they've never been sat in, the front seat has some cracks in the driver's spot but still nice. The thing never even had a hitch installed so it never pulled anything heavy. it has a ball on the bumper but that's it. I was supposed to go look at a pewter chevrolet before this one ha!

When we first got our other 99 Burb, in 2005, I had to memorize the license plate quickly, because I was walking up to the wrong trucks in parking lots! Dad and I were in it, not too long after we got it, at a freeway intersection in SW Houston (near where I currently live) and besides us, there were 3 other pewter 400 series trucks at that intersection. Another Burb,a Tahoe, and a pickup.....
All these years later, I still see a few pewter 400s every week ( besides our current Burb, also pewter). And the crew cab is a gold color (rawhide metallic, according to the early production records, it was built in September '96) so it fits in the family.

Sounds eerily familiar... I ran up to Baltimore last week and picked up a truck a lot like yours. 1999 K2500 Suburban, 5.7l, 4l80e, G80, manual windows, bench seat, rubber floor, W/T front end but Chevy, barn doors, no tint on windows, gold paint. Body and floor pan were solid, engine purrs nicely and has had nothing done to it. Came with all service records since 99. Needs some TLC underneath but the frame checked out yesterday so onwards we go. The price was right and I needed a future DD when the ccsb dually goes down for resto. It was never a fleet truck though... horse trailer puller for 15 years and then did a lot of sitting, but no critter infest. Putting a flight plan together for it to become an OBX beach bus. I'm like a little kid again. Hope you enjoy yours just as much.
