the thing about sleeving it, is if it wears in the future you can easily resleeve it on your own. maybe can find a good one locally. for stuff like this i get a few of them and get machine shop bore them. they usually do it for beer which is cool. the dream is to one day get a lathe and milling machine, but i don't do enough of this stuff to justify it.

I expect mine to be just wrecked, but you don't have driving experience with that donor. How about pics of the damage?

Do you have any experience on who makes a good sleeve? Was looking at this one:

I don't have an issue with resizing the opening for a sleeve. But making the sleeve was trying to avoid. They also make a wider bushing.

I posted pretty much all the pictures of the poor things in the beginning. This is the wear that I was trying to decide on what to do.

It's been a while since I had mine apart. Is that what the forward drum wore into?

I think that's supposed to be a common issue on these units. It's where the sealing rings allow the input shaft to wear grooves into the forward drum, right? Although I can't really see groves on that photo. It's kinda hard to see down in there IIRC, even with your eyes.

How much is a replacement drum? I think they sell OEM, good used ones too.

I couldn't remember what the drum wore into. All I remember about it is those damn Teflon sealing rings you have to stretch and shrink. If you zoom in on the pump you can see the wear. Did it only eat the bushing though?

They now sell aftermarket replacement drum, however I am not sure on the quality of them. the sealing rings wore a path on the sealing surface.

Found couple of the builders using the sleeve from omega without any problems, so just went ahead and ordered it. I have a new direct drum already, so at least that part is good.
