Yeah I keep hearing that. I'll save up for the 5-0 stuff.
Same with wheel spacers, like many the rears just drive me nuts being so inboarded. Saving up there too for some BORA's.

Looks like the Trail Ridge mirrors are the go to here, also not cheap...

Do it right or do it twice I guess... I've done lots of things twice in my life and it IS getting old...

Unfortunately that's generally the way it goes.

Buy once, cry once!

I have the Stahl spacers on my 'burb, they are the steel version and made by the same company as the Bora aluminum version.

Would not have expected this, but got $50 for the old grill. Fully expected to be cutting it up and putting it in the trash.

That's $50 into the injector fund!

Bye!

Posted the old front seats/console up as well for $300 and have a few interested parties, those should be gone this weekend.
Pleasantly suprised.

Also, after much internal debate, and searching this site, and reading peoples experiences, went ahead and ordered the Spec-D mirrors off amazon. If they are terrible I can return them. I've been running $100 ebay specials on my suburban for 5 years, and they are fine. For the money, seems like I'll get a lot. If they just don't work out I'll figure something else out.

Well, I didn't do much, but I didn't not do nothing. Spent most of the weekend getting my daily sorted. Nice to have ol' Riggs around for the odd parts store run, you know those happen!

I've put about 1600 miles on it since I bought it trouble free, but it just needed a few things dealt with, some preventative maintenance, and some R&M. Also needed to replace the A/C condenser and lines, and get that recharged. Never messed with A/C before but I think I did it right, thanks YouTube.

While I was at it, I had a couple cans of plasti-dip left over from another project, and derp'd the wheels. I kinda hate to admit it, but it looks 100% better. This car isn't supposed to be something I like, I got it because it looks like a damn tiny mini van, just a daily that gets abused. I need to be careful or I'll want to start modding it.....

Anyways that was about 12 hours of my weekend. Now Chevy content.
Couple quality of life and aesthetic fixes, but something easy I could knock out in 30 minutes before dinner.

New parking brake handle. Old one was MIA.

Door marker courtesy light thing was missing on drivers side, another $13 amazon special, went ahead and did both driver and passenger. Should do the rears too, maybe later.

Had to fix the wrong branded hubcaps on my PY0's. More cheap amazon stuff, we'll see how they hold up.

Also found in my box of goodies a 194 bulb for the passenger side under dash light. nice to have, and it was in stock on my shelf.

This week I need to try and get my hands on my borrowed HP Tuners hardware over at my buddies mom's house, so I can start the 0411 swap. That's probably fast up next on the to do, that and finish selling the front seats. Lots of action on those, thinking they'll be gone within the week.

Oh, and finally, I had the welder out dealing with an issue on the Matrix, long story but I had a broken bolt that needed extracting.

Actually blown away that this work, and so pumped. I got this welder last year from my buddy, again long story but it was his dad's who passed away. It's an honor to have his welder and be able to use it, Anyways! got my bolt out.

Both the exhaust hangers were broken after some fashion so the exhaust I don't really like was extra floppy down there in the back.

Don't judge the welds too hard, I didn't want to spend too much time on prep and cleaning. I think it'll last...

bracket was busted

Seats sold, to an older guy sprucing up a '95 GMC short box.

Injector kiddy now has $240 in it.

It is hot today! But I might go mess with installing my tow mirrors, they showed up yesterday.

Nope. Didn't touch them. The freshly repaired A/C system in my Matrix, well, was blowing HOT on the way home today. Got home and put the gauges on it, ZERO pressure. So I've got to figure out where I went wrong there.
But in the meantime, since it's been over 100*F out all week, I'm driving Riggs tomorrow to work, since the A/C works great! I didn't want to tear into anything knowing I'm driving it tomorrow, and maybe Friday as well, since I did stop at the store on the way home, and yep, all the R134 is out of stock around here, due to the heatwave. Might be a few days before I get that fixed.

And a beauty shot from yesterday running an errand

Got to my tow mirror install today. Figured since it was 100*F outside I would pick today to do it.
Inaugural test run is Wednesday, so I at least wanted these on before pulling my trailer, well, anywhere.

As others have stated they found, the Sped-D power mirror controls are wired incorrectly, at least on my pair, and several others mentioned here. Up/Down is correct, but left and right is backwards. I spent some time and figured out the correct pattern to re-pin the connectors to. The yellow appears to be the ground, as nothing works with it disconnected. The other three, yellow, green and blue, all need to be moved, here is how I final pinned it. This is how it would look if you are looking at the connect from the back, connected to the plug. This was on my successful test.

Correct order, looking from the BACK of the connecter, as it plugs in to the body harness:

PURPLE YELLOW(original position)
RED GREEN

Some of these could be different, but both pairs of mine needed this change and now work correctly.

The other oddball thing with these is the support bracket. I had no instructions with mine, and pics or info online was scarce, so this is what I figured to do. But to make the cover panel clear, I had to bend the ear flat.
Down the road, I might come up with something better that provides better support, we'll see how these do.

Kinda weird, but fine for now.

I haven't wired up the heaters, blinkers, or courtesy lights, so this isn't a full review yet. That whole project will probably wait a little while until I get time to do the wiring right, and I need to fix driver door hinge and passenger door lock actuator, so that all will probably happen later on down the line. For now they are installed. I will note, that one director of adjustment on each axis is slow on these, ie up is fine but down is slow, right is fine but left is slow. However the adjust and work correctly. More info as I get it.
