My wire harness and ECM was all screwed up and the tbi was a nightmare (bought the truck off a kid) so i just pulled the heads and intake and went with vortec heads and carb. It was my choice and I'm sticking with it. It's a 1992 Chevy K2500LD 350/NV4500. I am having issues with my Drac/Speedo working. I have hooked up the inputs and the ground and installed a dipswitch for the cross overs. I also have a the complete service wiring manual. My oil pressure guage also isnt working but i have a relay to turn on the pump with ign.

What wires need to be hooked to what for the DRAC to work without ECM?

How can I make my oil pressure gauge work without the ECM?

Thank you

On your 92, you probably have a 3-wire oil pressure sending unit on the china rail near the distributor. 2 wires are for your fuel pump and one is for your gauge.

DRAC and oil pressure don't run off the ECM. In fact, nothing in the cluster does, except the SES and Shift indicators. Oil pressure gauge sender itself is probably busted and needs to be replaced. As for the DRAC, you're certain you have all the right dip switches on and off? Power supplied, solid ground connection? Wires from the VSS, and wire to the cluster are good? All other gauges working?

I finially singled it down to a faulty ground and broken wire for the DRAC. and the oil sender should be fine as it is brand new. My oil guage is always maxxed out though and does not move.

this picture looks right for my 93 when I bypassed my ecu and went aftermarket EFI, ECU, and tranny controller. Vss to speedometer from drac doesn't need a ECU unless you have an electronic transmission.

You need the two vss wires, power, ground and speedo out. The rest goes to ECU
BTW if you ever need a speedo calibration.
