Hi,

98 Tahoe 5.7

I swapped all the lights to led.

When checking every led I noticed that the Check engine light won't ignite...

Never noticed before but when starting it should come up for a second, right?

Now,how can I force an error that the check engine light has to show up?

Thanks!

what kind of LED did you use? Because cheap ones dont work well and LEDs tend to be directional when in the 194 type setup because of their nature, so some bulbs may have to be turned 180

As AuroraGirl said it probably needs to be flipped around, but you may find it will slightly illuminate all the time because the way the circuit is designed. I did all of mine LED but switched the warning lights back to incandescent because of them barely glowing all the time.

Take off a plug wire n fire it up. Or unplug egr. But like auroragirl said bulb could be in backwards.

Well, did that 180 and changed the led. Will try again.
Had that issue with some other leds. Now got them working all properly except the CEN.
So I thought it's somehow elsewhere broken....

Never understood why folks invite problems with LED/HID lights.

I swapped my interior lights to LED. Works fine. If anything, they work BETTER. Brighter, cooler running, less power draw.

LED/HID in a NON LED/HID housing on the other hand is a seperate issue all together.

never understood why someone would want to stoop to absolute peasantry and replace a lightbulb more than once

stumbles and mumbles when inevitably having to replace a failed LED bulb(High quality exponentially reduces this likelihood)

joking aside, its about how the bulb looks for me, the energy reduction comes next, then the longevity next

Ive had one failed Auxbeam F16 headlight out of successfully using about 4 sets and it was the chip for the high beam on a 9007, the chip... was disintegrating? It made different color, reduced light. never saw that. was crumbling into dust kinda(appeared to at least)

I just put another I had from a different vehicle for now
