I’ve adjusted rockers on plenty of older small blocks with the engine running, so I’m familiar with the process. would like to do the same on my ‘97 L29 vortec to get the lifters settled down. access to the drivers side is clear enough, but the passenger side with the MAF and TB are going to a pain to work around, which look to need to come off to clear the valve covers. has anyone done this successfully and what tips to do so? Else, adjust the ones I can access running and do the others when shut down off the cam base circle?

If it's stock, they're non-adjustable.

Remove the air intake and unplug the MAF. The PCM will revert to the MAP and speed density.

Warm up, remove intake/valve cover, put intake back on and run it again to adjust.

I got these clips for the rocker arms and made a little splash shield out of some scraps I had around. Helped keep the oil runoff and splash down. Will do the passenger side tomorrow. The valve cover gasket seemed to grow after I removed the valve cover, didn’t want to fit in the groove. Put it in the freezer for a bit and it shrunk back down and stayed in the groove
