How to replace transmission cooling hard lines on 1993 K2500 with 4L80E

On 4L60’s with OEM transmission cooler there are rubber sections.

RockAuto says a 97 2500 with cooler also uses line with rubber. But if OP doesn’t have a cooler then his lines wouldn’t have rubber section.

My 99 2wd Tahoe LT was born with those lines. It had all the heavy duty cooling options. Engine oil cooler, trans cooler, electric pusher fan, 34x17 dual core radiator and the 11 bladed clutch fan.

Yup, if it’s got OE transmission cooler, it’s got flex tranny lines

Thanks everyone for the replies. My truck does not have the auxillary trans cooler. The lines are all metal, just two lines to the radiator and back. I haven't attempted to remove them yet, but I will likely try this weekend. My plan is to get them off, take them to a local place that can make custom bent lines, and have replacements made. I can't seem to find any replacement lines anywhere. The local chevy dealer tried to look up a part number but didn't have any luck (and would likely have been discontinued anyway).

Just an update... I was able to remove both lines without too much trouble. The line that was leaking did break in the leaking section as I was removing it because it was so weak. I plan to take the lines to a custom place and have make new ones to match the originals (Tubes N' Hoses franchise).

In my driveway, I'd have cut-out the weak section, and spliced in a few inches of new tubing using double flares and brass double-flare unions.

In the past, I've used brass compression unions, which worked fine but are less-preferred compared to double-flares.

Much time and labor saved compared to removing and installing entirely new tubes.
