My buddy Joe did the wiring and the installation of the installation of the adapter piece. Minimum butchering was done to the dash light trimming around the opening.
Funny thing about the adapter kit-s instructions was that the instructions state more cutting at the dashboard like right almost to the curve part.
I am sorry I didn't show the process of installing the wiring. Also modifying the dash.

Why do u have the oil gauge where radio dele is, just wondering. Thought the dakota had one.

fyi see my thread on screen mirror function for that double din
My buddy Joe Said he prefer mechanical gauge because it's more accurate than the electronic one

No offense and im just trying to see the reason. The dakota digital clusters are around 1k.. im quite sure they have there stuff together.. if i was spending that much on a cluster, no way in hell would i add another gauge that is already on the cluster.. just bc my buddy said he dont trust it.

Id be interested to know how
Much difference if any on the two gauges.

Also if that was the case, all of those gauges could be bought at 1/4 the price of the cluster, and there is a dash blank that accepts gauges for our trucks, and also retains all warning lights / hazard / blinker / hi beam , etc

Valid point here. The differences quite minimal mainly the electronic one does kind of have a faint lag

Fair. But witha “faint lag”, in the grand scheme of things, is 1-2 extra seconds gona blow your engine? Also you would have to be 100% looking at gauge 100% of time to know the difference.

Maybe if this was a race truck, mmaayybee.

Or pulling heavy load. But seing as its a 1/2 ton and 2wd. Doubt your getting into the 5-6k range , or hell ever seeing barely a 2.5k lb range .
