Well I’d say get plugs that give more spark. But I’d make sure that the rest of your ignition system will not burn up and that may cure your problem but I wouldn’t just go throw plugs in it for a tuning!! I’d get the tune done but have a buncha questions ready as to why and what’s needed to maintain the tune to just grab your keys jump in your seat and fire it up n off you go!!! VS constant tinkering to just run!

You really can't get "more" spark from one plug in one firing. Some materials will last longer as electrodes, but other than that they all do the same thing.

Heat ranges are a separate matter. OP could be running a plug that is too cold.

Well “more” being better E3 plugs have a triangle head vs the arm style which gives “more/better” sparking not all plug designs are the same. But here’s a vid on differences I’m no car mechanic but I do know a few things more than the average bear!! Lol

Spark plug brands don't matter, except that sometime it does matter. When I was a Nissan tech, Champion Platinum plugs were cheap, and the parts stores were selling them like crazy. A Nissan VG30 engine will absolutely misfire on Champion Platinum plugs. To avoid that, buy OEM plugs.

Here's your rule of thumb for plugs:
GM - AC Delco or NGK
Ford - Motorcraft or Autolite
Chrysler - Champion
Japanese - Nippondenso or NGK
German - Bosch

Splitfire, E3, etc. are gimmick plugs. The spark will only ever jump the path of least resistance. Don't waste your money.

Thanks folks for all the input. I will just get the good ol ac Delco. I'll get w the tuner to see if I should bring a couple sets. It's not on his check list unless it has a Turbo so that could be a waste of money.

FWIW, have E3s in the 383 in the van currently. They work extremely well. My heads required a plug change. Plugs have to be a M14 thread, .750 reach and washer seat on my aluminum heads.

I put NGK Ruthenium plugs in my 2011 Pathfinder. When the van needs plugs again, it is getting the same style Rutheniums. Rutheniums made a difference for the better on the 4.0L.

I run ac delco platinums in my 400 Escalade but I wanted you to know what else is out there and aweful is right on which plugs but everything is relative to another yes some stuff are gimmicks but I’d go with delco platinums is better than copper delco’s I think most 400’s came with. But I’d still go do that tune first you don’t want to feel the need to put new on right afterwards if tuning takes some figuring out to get it right! but those e3’s did make my Saturn run better! So I know it wasn’t a gimmick on that car!

The E3s ran better than brand new "correct" plugs; or they ran better than ancient, worn-out, deposit-fouled plugs?

Lotsa guys pull out misfiring plugs, slap in new "gimmick" plugs, and then sing the praises of the "gimmick" plugs because the engine ran better than with the Old Crusties.

Well I put 8000 miles on that Saturn in 4 months of working outta town and it never ran better until it’s demise ☹️ I was all about mpg on it so either way I’m just explaining my experience not anyone else’s nor am I a salesman! so I’m not trying to argue on FACTS of something that I lived!! So I’m just trying to help out a fellow member here THAT ASKED for help an that he/she has options in that department but maybe you didn’t READ the part that says I have the platinum delcos in my Escalade and recommended them also.
