Got this new unit today. Up until 5 years ago my wife's daily was a '98 2500 Suburban with the 6.5. I loved that truck, sad when we sold but the wife wanted something with car seat latches....
Anyways ever since had a GMT400 hole in my heart that needed to be filled, which I did today!

Welcome Riggs to the family, a 2000 3500 4x4 with the good old Vortec 7.4 (BIG BLOCK!), 175k miles. Picked it up for $7200, which for a running driving 1 ton crew in this market, seemed like a steal. You tell me, did I get a deal? It needs a few little things but overall solid... drove it 4 hours to get home trouble free, that's always a good start.

Interior is complete, pretty clean (needs a vacuum), not trashed, and bone stock

So there it all is. Definitely is a solid start.

In the immediate future is converting the front to some form of bench seat so I can haul the whole family (4 kids). Working on that here. The canopy is also going away ASAP, if I can get some money for it great otherwise ti's going to the dump.
It obviously needs a bit of a go-through on some maintenance items, fix the door hinges, some wiring cleanup, fluids, etc etc... but for now pretty pleased I got a runner. A/C also blows cold.

Down the road plans, after maintenance is all caught up, include quite a number of things, probably a double din stereo conversion with backup cam, GMT800 front brakes, the BIG 3, level the front, 285s and some nice rims, possibly a cheap DIY black paint job, replace the shiny junk front grill probably with OEM, injectors and 0411 swap.
The exhaust looks like a cheapo dual DIY driveyard deal, I'd like to set up a sweet, clean NICE sounding single way down the road. For now, it's fine, but definitely on the list.

OH... what am I doing with this truck?
Hauling the family camp trailer camping in summers, hunting rig duty, hauling trailers and misc yard/home depot run type duties. It's a second vehicle for me, I have a Toyota Matrix cranking 30mpg for my daily so i don't kill myself on gas.

Thanks for reading!

Well, got a pretty good day of horse trading done.
Found a perfect front seat, belive it or not. Matches the interior and everything. I over paid for it ($300), but having looked around and considering options, I didn't have a lot of choice. But it matches what's in there, and it's power and what I wanted.

Needs a good cleanup.

On the flip side, I sold the canopy! $100 to the good, to offset my seat purchase.

Truck already looks better...

Local pick n pull had a 40% sale for 4th of July weekend, so I figured I'd better go see what I could grab...

Got a front grill from a pre-96 style Chevy, a couple lights and the front valence, a driver side battery tray, and an 0411 ECU for $87.

It's not the best grill but it'll do for now and it's better than the ebay chrome monstrosity that is on there. An the ECU.... seems like all in got a good deal there. Just need to get my buddy's HP Tuner's module from him, he's in Idaho but I should be able to work out getting it from him. Wasn't planning to do the 0411 swap right away but it's seeming like I might as well at this point. I'm sure the truck needs injectors, it hates starting when warm.

Might have some updates sooner than later!
