So...... I bought another truck. Again.
This time, I get to join the K2500 crew cab short bed guys.
2000 K2500 crew shorty
350/80E/NP243/3.73s
130K original miles
Needs fenders, hood and a bed. And the frame need tended to, to stop the rust. Texas truck, but it spent the last several years in New Mexico as a deer lease rig.
Bed floor is no good, and one bed side is messed up. Hood has a large dent right on the front edge. Right fender has a massive dent, left fender is damaged in the small area above the grille. The back passenger door is dented pretty good. And driver's door is begging for bushings and pins. Oh, windshield needs to be replaced. It's totally trashed.
But on the plus side, all the electronics seem to work properly, and it runs and drives pretty nice. Steering is tight. Exceptionally so. Ride is a little harsh with the 33x12.50x17s and the front end cranked up so much. So that'll be the first thing I address. After the locked up a/c compressor and windshield.

Edit: autocorrect got me

Neat project, man that thing lived a very hard, 130k.
Yeah it did. Rode hard and put up wet. But I didn't see any rust in the rockers, under the doors, anything. It's just the bed floor, and the the rear of the frame.

But this truck also has the tightest steering of any 400 I've ever drove. Like, it feels new. But it's clearly not.

And I absolutely dislike the tires and wheels that are on it, mostly because the front is cranked all the way up onto the droop stops. So I intend to go back to the stock 16's. And since it's meant to pull daily driver duty, it'll probably (sadly) wind up with 245 street tires.
