Nice job I just bought a second dash bezel for this reason! So if something happens to not work then I’m not totally screwed an driving around with dash looking crazy all exposed lol
I was just talking with my son about this on the way to school this am. I have a double din Kenwood in my outback, that I want to transfer to a Suburban when I sell the outback. Looks like a long and laborious job. I had to order a JDM a/c control and center console to add one to the outback.

Looks like you didn’t shave out anything just popped in you new unit ? Looks good for not altering the dash bezel!!! Do you still have CD player in below heater controls? Another pic would be great!! Lol
