Hey all, needing a GMT400 pickup overhead console, the one with the smaller opening. Don’t care what color, if it’s not grey, I can reupholster it. Thanks!

edit: I’m in Oklahoma!

I'll keep an eye out next time I hit a yard, there's a plethora of Suburbans around here with both styles, most still intact.

Awesome, thanks! All of the scrapyards and pull-a-parts near me with GMT400’s have been picked dry for interior parts, so I usually have to resort to eBay or FB marketplace, especially for anything 88-94 specific. Oh and of course, if I do find a part I need, it’s not in the right color! Never fails lol.

I’ve had an issue pulling them apart and the plastic bosses where the two halves screw together falling apart because they are brittle as hell.

the reupholstering part is easy. The going back together part not so much

Hmm, knock on wood, but I haven’t had an issue yet. I reupholstered a friends 93 Burb console last year, and I took apart my current SUV console to fix something and it went back together just fine. But I’ll keep it in mind.

I've been unsuccessful in finding an overhead console for my p/u. Same problem, local pick/ pull empty of any useful interior parts.
Any chance you could look/ find a full length oh console for my 1998 Silverado (extended cab 3door) w/ blue interior?
I'd prefer the one with all the bells and whistles: Map lights, compass, temp, home link, sunglass holder.
I could probably do without one or two of the features (beggars aren't choosers) but still prefer it in blue/grey.
I'm in Central IL.
Thanks!

Yes, that’ll do nicely.
Couple questions:
I remember reading on the forums where some of the console’s (pre 97’?) would only work with pre 97’ models whereas 98’ and after used a different sending protocol? Do you know what year/make/model the console is from (compatibility)?
Can you point me to the correct thread(s) pertaining to installing it?
Price and shipping to 61550.
Thanks!

If you have a 98+ you want the one with the mode buttons, anything else look for one with the on/off button. the console year doesnt matter , just the year of your truck

What is the difference in the opening size between the truck and Suburban? Reason I ask is, I have an overhead console but whatever went there has been removed, so like to know how to tell what it came out of.
Thanks
