Any GMT400 5 or 6 lug 10 bolt truck axle with a matching gear ratio would swap.

Or you can also swap/upgrade to a 14 bolt 9.5" from the 6 lug 2500 Light Duty trucks with a conversion U joint. Just keep it consistent if 2wd or 4x4 for either case.

Did those 9 1/2 14 bolt SF’s only come with 3.73 or 4.10?

The 6 lug 14 bolt SF rear ends are not only found in the light duty 2500. Many K1500 trucks will have them as well. (RPO F44). At least up here in Canada, 1/2 tons with the 14 bolt are very common.

The 8.5" "Ten bolt" should never have been installed in a full-size pickup. They're fine for small-block compact and intermediate cars.

It took me years to find a six-lug 9.5" axle for my '88 K1500 with 3.42 gears and G80. Even a 3.42 open differential axle assembly was uncommon. 3.73 was common, even more than 4.10.

There’s one on eBay right now.

I’d be leery of spending $500/axle and $400/freight. You get it, it’s junk and now your responsible to send it back for another $400 plus $150 restocking fee. Seller may have a good thing going there -sell junk, get it back and make $150, then keep repeating process! :33:
