I’m not sure what the blue one was (could be for the rear view mirror with temp/compass?) but it was wrapped up in foam with the two airbag connectors.

I did another 98 that had a regular rear view mirror. I want to say that the blue connector wasn’t on that one. Could be wrong there.

Edit: on my other 98, it had one end of the blue connector but not the other.

Must have been an option that the truck didn’t have. The one in the original thread with the complete blue connector had leather, power seats, etc.

Ok. Thanks. My truck has the 3 plugs coming from the dash harness but only 2 yellow plugs coming from the firewall. I thought I missed connecting one of the plugs but couldn't find the firewall-side blue plug.

Man im just starting to put mine back together. Defroster blend door assy, 3 new actuators, New heater core, New evaporator, New accumulator.
Had to make all new foam gaskets, pretty much all of them were junk and not sealing up a thing for the most part. Replaced all with new as i NEVER want to do this again!!
Heater box is back in. Tomorrow is dash and wiring replace and hopefully be done.
This is not a easy job at all it's a BIT**, At least for me and i would imagine most people would find it hard also if never done it before.
Taking out bolts/screws is the easy part. The hardest part for me so far was figuring out how to get the wiring harness unhooked from the firewall.
The center bolt on the main connector is a torx head screw NOT a hex head(1997 gmc) and the DIC? white plug on top does NOT come apart. The only way is to undo all the plugs (4)for the dic in the engine compartment and feed them through the firewall. Dicked with that for about two hours figuring it out.

Yeah, no fun for sure!

Did yours have the 3 harness connectors (2 yellow and 1 blue) connected at the windshield?

No. I only have 1, either white or blue i cant remember. I only have a driver's side airbag though.
It's now all back together and seems to be working perfectly with no extra screws left  Took a FULL day and a half to do.
Still need the AC recharged. It's all sealed up so with winter coming im in no hurry to do that. Thinking of buying a vacuum pump and gauges and learning to do it myself.

So I pulled my dash last weekend hoping to replace the main 3 blend doors only to find out I need a new air box so I get to do this all again in a few weeks, joy, but now I have the problem of figuring out why I have no park lights..

I have headlights, hi and lo, turn signals, brake lights, interior lights at the gauges and door switches, and there's 12v at the bottom left pin for the buzzer module (I grab power for my aftermarket running light's and relays there), but no running lights at the front or rear.

I know I plugged everything back in, only thing I was second guessing myself about was that blue connector with the 2 yellow ones above the steering column brace. I know the yellow ones are for airbag crap, but I can't remember if I unplugged the blue when removing the dash. Checked for continuity at the park light pin in the front end harness connector and there's nothing, but that blue connector has a pin with continuity. Also engine starts and runs so I don't think the trucks gone security ape sh*t

In case it helps she's a 98 ECSB auto, power driver seat, driver and passenger airbag, powerless interior mirror, no rear defrost, doesn't have roof lights (from the factory anyways).

EDIT: check how many times you've stuck a multimeter lead into your connector pins before anything else lmfao. Problem solved

@Jesse_Wenting
Do you think that blue connector is for a “power” rear view mirror (auto-dim, compass/temperature)?

Honestly I have no clue what that one is for. It's not for the power dimming mirror, it plugs directly into the convenience centre. Presuming someone else doesn't beat me to it, next time I have my dash out I'll actually follow each wire in that blue connector and update this thread with my findings. I'd bet it's something for the SUVs but I've got no clue as to what
