What do you look for in a good replacement distributor? This would be for a stock 5.7 daily driver. ACDeclo/Delphi only? What about Summit/Jegs house brands? Do rebuilt distributors tend to be problematic like other rebuilt parts? I might need one soon :3811797817_8d685371

I bought a Delphi, and have not used it yet. That was probably 10 years ago. If I were shopping now, I'd probbaly go with one of the US made billet aluminum distributors from the small manufacture that sells on ebay..... one guy here has recently gotten one. They're expensive, but all the other aluminum distributors for sale are just Chinese imports. Do a search here on the forum, and see if you can dig up the thread.

Stay away from Summit. Bought a Summit branded distributor from them and it was defective. Costed me more than it was worth to have the shop install it, find out it was defective, remove it, and re-install my factory one. Oddly enough, my factory distributor hasn't acted up since (knock on wood).

I bought the standard motor parts stock replacement one it's made in USA, going good for a year now and my truck is a daily driver. Otherwise yes if you want to spend the money buy a billet one and stay away from the China stuff.

I had an Accel cap and rotor; defective right out of the box, so now it's got a NAPA/Echlin cap and rotor.

I still have an Accel billet dizzy shaft to swap in, hopefully the shaft won't cause a problem.

United Motor Products 9362 is what I have had on my Express van for the past 7 years. My OEM distributor split in half at about 85K, might have been my fault though as I had changed the absolutely wasted drive gear about 5k earlier.
