I did a trans swap from auto to manual in my '97 RCSB. Started this almost 2 yrs ago, things got in the way but wrapping it up now. When I removed the auto, I chased all the wires back to the PCM and unpinned them. So I know I have a NSS problem because I removed the wiring. I'll tie this into the clutch pedal but for today, I just want to fire it up for some initial testing. Obviously I get no power to the starter. All other power acessory, lights etc.. functions as they should.

Is this as easy as pulling the (Yellow) wire from ignition (column) NSS circuit and tie it into the purple starter solenoid wire?

there is a thread on here for t56 swap that goes into detail on this. I know it’s 2 wires you basically tie together. But you will need to have your pcm flashed to get rid of any codes like mine had. (Mine is 97)
I sent mine to black bear performance. But I believe it was a purple wire with another but not 100% sure. That thread should say

I didn’t in pin anything from my harness, I just pulled the necessary wires for reverse lights, NSS, and Speedo sensor to the side and terminated the ends of unused wires. The truck wouldn’t run right until I had pcm flashed but other than that no issues.

Yeah, think its purple (starter relay) from the fuse block under the hood and Yellow (Ignition wire) wire from the steering column. I know the purple goes to the solenoid.

i googled the question and saw one opinion saying there is no relay, the starter solenoid is sometimes called a relay. Which makes sense to me, because the wire from the ignition switch ( purple) doesn’t use many amps.

Where is the starter relay? I got a shop manual wiring book for my 92 but can’t find it
The relay for your '97 is in the fuse box under the hood on the drivers side of the engine compartment. Turn the lid over and there is a legend that shows the location.
