Cleaning the HVAC floor plenum.

Imagine buying someone's used car and breathing their 20-year old junk through the HVAC.

Ah this definitely puts my OCD in a good place LOL! Ido the same kind of stuff with any used vehicle I buy.

Is that the actual name of it? I guess I never knew about this.
Per parts website, it's called "duct, floor rear air outlet."

I tried using some flexible line and tying Lysol wipes to the end of it. Got majority of the gunk out. But then I found something that looked like a rat poop (maybe was, maybe wasn't, but not even chancing it), and so I resorted to hosing it out and dumping 2 liters of 3M disinfectant down each section. I know I did see two rat droppings on the carpet, so I'm glad I did this cleaning.

Doors are significantly lighter stripped down. Would probably be able to one-man the door hinge bushings.

Here's a before shot of the driver's side front door and its parts:

Having flashbacks to my own build looking at this.

I actually saw this truck for sale back in Jan. I was going to use it as a comp for an insurance claim on mine but just ended up going with a private appraisal anyway.

Nice looking rig.

He originally wanted around $10k for it, but we negotiated down to $7.5k. After inspecting it and having an actual understanding of what needs to be repaired (was not able to perform an inspection beforehand), in hindsight I think it was worth $6k. But, because of the used car market and its rarity (a working OBS crew cab that is not eaten away by rust), $7.5k was certainly acceptable to me. Someone else would certainly have paid $7.5k or more for it had I not jumped on it. All in all, it was a good deal for a good truck. I wanted a project truck with a good body (i.e., I wanted to be occupied with mechanical repairs, not body work), not heavily customized (no aftermarket lift), and that's what I got.

Yeah seems fair. I took a similar inside out approach kn my own build. Those carpets are fun. I just put it in and cut to fit then went to the underside and drove a scribe/drill bit up in all the body holes and then trimmed my holes on the inside from there.
