I'm completely satisfied with this pickup as far as pulling and everything. I know there is no helping gas milage. I didnt buy it for gas milage. I'm curious what are some of the easier ways to boost HP, or do I wait till stuff starts breaking to do that? kind of new to the big block family. Or if there is any PMs that should be done. Its a 99 with 92k for miles.

You can always upgrade the exhaust or have the computer tuned for better performance and leave the truck as is.

I'm using a 97 L29 as a donor into my squarebody truck. Some of the modifications I did are:
1)Bosch 30lb/hr 4-hole injectors
2)Blocked off stock regulator hole and installed adjustable FPR in return line
3)Had stock cam reground by Delta Camshaft in Tacoma, WA
4)Long Tube headers
5)EFIconnection 24x reluctor and distributor cap
6)0411 swap and CNP

Just the cam would probably be your biggest drivability improvement. The injectors and regulator changes are mostly to support tuning and for reliability concerns. The 0411 and CNP are mostly for ease of tuning and drivability/mileage. I haven't gotten the whole thing installed yet and am still working through wiring/tuning and rebuilding the 4L80 before I'll even know if I have screwed it up or it works well

I'm interested to hear the answers, but my truck is stock.....well, I guess I have high performance stainless studs/nuts holding the valve covers on instead of the factory bolts

Oh, and I put better/different fan on it.... light weight 11 blade plastic instead of the heavy 9 blade steel/aluminum original fan.

What combo did you use for fan and clutch?

What is the fan off of? Rather curious about that.

Hayden super duty clutch that I put on the truck a few years ago with the original fan, and a new GM fan.

Here's the thread, but unfortunately, I didn't include the part number to the new fan, but did include the part number for the original fan..... which is not terribly useful. I think I have the box label saved somewhere, Though.

I think the fan was originally for vans with LS engines, but later was expanded to my truck.
