I'm in agreement, in principle, that the 800's pretty much improve on 400's in many ways. Not ALL ways. Looks are entirely subjective. I prefer 400's styling far better. And most of you know I prefer TBI-era 400's.. which are in general, way more reliable than anything made afterwards, and easier to troubleshoot/repair. The 800's have a lot of great features and capabilities, but it all comes at the cost of more complexity and expense of maintenance and repair.

I personally like square bodies more. I think 800s are probably an overall better truck and as easy to maintain. I got tired of throwing transmissions in a rusty k10 so I Bought the 400 for cheap with near perfect interior and very nice exterior. I had a 2 door Tahoe I tricked out in highschool and my dad had a 93 Silverado for a long time so I knew what I was getting into. What I didn’t know was how much I would fall in love with my 400. I love it and have no plans to sell it unless a ccsb Square body comes around. I love my blue interior. It’s new enough not to feel old but old enough to for people to stop you and talk to you about it. I’ve had a guy follow me to ask to buy my truck twice now.

Most of those are subjective, which is what I figured.
Subjective is the long way to say "I disagree", just be upfront next time.

Research, road function testing and large national surveys show the 800 is better in all of the previously mentioned areas. It isn't just a "Subjective" or biased opinion.
LS swap, Coilovers, GMT800 seat swap.

As much as I like the Gmt400 I also like the newer trucks.
While, that's possible, my 90 is LS swapped, had a 4L80E in it, coilovers, full myriad of suspension bits and goodies. Still a rough riding, truck with poor ergonomics. I've given up on trying to make it a fun truck to drive on a daily basis, it'll just be a race car.
