I'm not actually a fan of a dislike button - I made my comment on being in favor of it in jest. We tend to be negative creatures, and making the negativity easier probably isn't a good thing. If you dislike something, you can express it by typing a response.

Ooh... if we had a dislike button I could dislike the "add a dislike button" thread.

I can tell y'all exactly why there isn't a thumbs down, or dislike button. I would start to much BS. People can not admit, when there wrong, or even take constructive criticism, no mater how well intended.

I'm personally not for something like this, with my sentiments echoing closely to Erik's.

This forum is one of the last places on the internet that I feel people can genuinely respect each other's opinions.

I wouldn't thumbs down someone in real life if they gave questionable advice, I'd just move on. I think we're all able to differentiate between good and bad advice - no need to flag it with a thumbs down, in my opinion.

And that's the best attitude to have.

I understand why. I thought on it and at first it was a great idea but now I’m leaning more to the “no” side. Some people may think that a truck doesn’t look good (me in the case of the triple axle GMT800) but the builder might’ve and it could’ve made a personal taste issue turn into an explosive bout of rage. I also think it could, in a really bad case, give someone reason to leave the forum or have a large post of anger toward other members.

In the short term it might be good but in the long term it turns into a really awful thing.
