Also, does anyone have any tips for swapping from the 2.5" wide shoes in the back to the 3.5" wide? Is it actually as simple as remove old narrow drums and shoes, install new wider drums and shoes? According to AutoZone, the springs are the same, as are everything else that's not the wheel cylinders, shoes, and drums.

Anyone know any secrets for an oil pressure sending unit that is so close to the block that the socket won't fit???
Like, I desperately need help with this.

I bought the socket that Autozone sells. I had to do the job, by feel, but I don't recall a clearance issue between the block and socket. I don't remember if I was able to use a regular extension, or if I used a wobble extension.

Other than cutting the socket or using a crow foot open ended one that fits on a ratchet... maybe one of the O2 sensor socket wrenches is a size to fit?

I think this is what I bought.

When I was shopping, I read that some sockets aren't deep enough, so I think I took my new sender with me to Autozone.
Yup. This is what I have. It won't fit between the sensor and the block. I'm afraid the sensor is cross threaded. Or it's maybe bent. I dunno. But the top broke off, so it has to come out and be replaced.

I used the Lisle sender socket on a 1/4" swivel head ratchet on my 4.3. You basically have to do it by feel, as was mentioned. If you remove the cap and rotor it's a bit easier...I think on my case that was the only option.

Cap and rotor are off, but my problem is that the sending unit is just almost touching the block. Close enough the socket won't fully seat on the sending unit because of how close it is to the block.
