Is it the GM Powertrain solutions 488?it is 8.0l, not 8.1l
8.0l used standard bolts. Basically mostly everything as in 7.4l except larger crank bolt. But also pistons, rods and cam from 8.1l
It was bought out at some point of time from gm. Then they put together a bigger version as well. I did not think about sending them an email. Will see if there is a contact availableIs it the GM Powertrain solutions 488?
Yes i am quoting myself. You have to go to a marine/industrial dealer not a regular GM dealer. I have access to the Marine/ind catalog but I cannot log into it today.

The 8.0L marine/industrial engine still at least per the catalog uses a 1/2-20 1/38" bolt, p/n 10126796.
The 8.1L in 06 used a M16x1.5, the 7.4L in 99 used a 1/2-20 bolt.
My 8.0 turned out to be m16x2. Could have been same on some 8.1s.Did all 8.1 use a m16x1.5. I ask cause I just installed an early 8.1 and it definitely was not that
