A stock pan will drop out without having to lift the engine. Find the loose rod, turn the crank so it's at the bottom, take the cap off, tap the rod up and off the crank and you're there.

Engine is out, replacing all kinds of ****...

Twisted the return fuel line disconnecting it from the throttle body, so I'm replacing both front sections (cleaned the rear segments going to sending unit).

The old lines had extension segments of fuel hose on them (pic). New lines are identical except for the fuel hose segments and they appear to be a couple inches shorter side by side. Parts sites said my new lines should fit my extended cab truck (matched OEM #s).

Stupid question: Am I going to have to extend these lines? (Stock **** is out, Edelbrock performer manifold with a 46mm TBI unit and adapter plate are going in.

I am wanting a long block to swap out and do my motor later this year. So who would have the best quality rebuilt to put in. I already know for around 6.5k I can buy a new long block from GM.
7.4 454 L29.

Hello everyone
So Im working on a crate 350 right? and the timing chain is loos as hell. So I figure I'd replace everything and buy a new set. All the sets I buy are way too lose and none fit. I contacted cloyes and they said since the engine was rebuilt before it was line-honed so he told me I need to buy a over sized set. Now heres the problem. All the timing sets I find are only available in double roller. And the issue with a double roller is im using a vortec timing cover with the reluctor, So the double roller wont fit. Has anyone else had this issue before? and how did you solve it.
Thanks

I’m replacing the heads on a 98 350. The right head needs a pipe plug where the dash gauge temp sensor would be if the head was installed on the left.

I need to track down a new plug (the original is rusted) but would a high-temp sealant work on the plug threads? Not sure what they had from the factory and the GM manual doesn’t cover it. GM temperature sensor has a white pre-applied sealant on it.

A line hone won't cause that issue. Neither will a line bore. Call the company that reman the engine and tell them your issues. They should have a solution.
