Nice! Those double cardan joints weren't ever factory on GMT400s were they? I've only ever seen them on my Cadillacs.
Appreciate it.
Not on the rear that I know of. Squarbody’s The ones with np203s and 205s maybe. Ford and Dodge used em a bunch and had factory SYE.
I hope what I have will last a bit. I have 2 extra np208s if need be.
We bounced it around using the hydraulic rear brakes locked out doing some burnouts and it seems to work. Gonna throw a WFO anti wrap bar on it hopefully keep the rear of the case from exploding.
I got the idea from here
Clay at City Driveshaft in Sulphur Springs used DOM tubing and 1350s. Pretty killer product from that dude.
Side by side hard to argue with the craftsmanship.

Not much to report. Got everything tagged and inspected zero issues there. I've been running around all week and fixed rattles and other general things that needed attention. Took it out today and beat the hell out of it. 4wd drive works very well and I tried real hard to get it stuck LOL. We had a pretty good rain and I about got buried up in the Texas clay. Suspension is good but I have to run around 35psi in the 12ply tires or it is a little rough. No real obnoxious vibrations. Steering and brakes are better than I expected them to be. The only downside that most wouldn't like is there is no highway gear.
I'm at about 2500rpm at 65mph. They way I see it I will be loaded 90 percent of the time. We had 20+mph winds today and the truck didn't feel any different power wise as unloaded and no wind. Fuel mileage is not terrible if I stay in the 65mph range I'm getting 14mpg and to me that's a win all day long. I'll get some pictures in the daylight of it loaded and hopefully some on the trails soon enough.

Lol yup but they seem to work really well. Saw a bunch of reviews on these things and hell for $800 bucks I figured id give'em a try. There are not bad at all for the price point.

I'd heard of the load range F, but couldn't find crap. Maybe I'll search 12 ply instead next time. I bet they ride like **** though don't they?

Not at lower psi 35.
They would be pretty great on a diesel setup I would guess. I’m happy with them for my purpose. In my opinion they are better than the trail grapplers Goodyear duratracs as far as feel but are a little louder. Both of those I ran on a gmt800 burb half ton. They were close to as loud not quite and ride is very similar. I have the 17s but same same. The Ironmans were pretty much half the cost as the other 2 and I figured I couldn’t lose running them for a bit. I’m still on the fence to go 37s or not but I’ll figure it out after a few outings.

I had a little vibration I thought I had left to fix. Come to find out I had made the skid plate where it was contacting the transmission crossmember. Rookie mistake SMH. Fixed that and the only thing I have left to chase is I believe I am getting a little axle wrap on good acceleration and deceleration. I have all of the parts except for the front flex joint and it will be two weeks before it comes in. I didn't want to do a heim joint and decided to use the Krawler joint instead. It is massive, rebuildable and greaseable. It still should supply all the flex I need while stiffening up the rear springs.
The wife and I made a short camping trip this past weekend and we actually were able to flex it out a bit. It had good manners and I am pleased so far. We hit the skid plate in one little washout so maybe we need to trim fenders and get some bigger tires in there lol. Next week I'll start the process getting a winch bumper fabbed up. The only bumpers I like are the ARB for the OBS and the skinny version that ORD has for square body's. I will try my best to keep it tucked back to the grill but all my steering and bracing I moved forward is taking the vital real estate. I have a crap ton of cardboard I've been saving so I can do some CAD carboard assisted designs. We shall see how it goes. If any of y'all know of something similar to those please fire it my way. I do have a 2wd frame and I'm not sure if they are the same in that manner. I would think that they would be for production purposes but what the heck do I know.

I got the ARB on mine and I literally got if because of that pic above. its a beast. The only thing Im not a huge fan of is the bottom of the bumper has a lip that ive caught on a few rocks. but leaves great room for winching without sticking out too far or too low.
