I have to admit, I liked the look of the 33’s better. I’ve always been a lifted 4WD guy and not a lowered sport truck guy. But I really wanted to do this AWD swap/build.

Worst case, if I don’t like it, I should be able to sell it for a pretty decent amount and build something else.

The tires are Continental ExtremeContact Sport 255/45ZR18’s

Anyone in the market for 4 brand new, never driver on Toyo Open Country A/T III’s?

I’m about to post them to FB Marketplace.

People don’t seem to be excited for my new direction. Oh well, I’m not doing it to make anyone else happy. It’ll be better when I’m posting pictures of actual progress, not just parts.

I literally have everything I need for the the front and rear regear as well as lowering, except for the shocks, but they are on the way.

Anyway, this weekend I hope to finish the 100amp rewiring of my garage so I can setup 220/240 and get my welder. The whole reason for all of that is that when I install the C notch I refuse to drill and use nuts and bolts. I want to weld it for strength and also cosmetic purposes.

Great choice on the gears, I have Yukons in my truck with the same (different kit but still made by timken) bearings and they are dead silent. Good to see you sticking with 4.10 as well, I went a step lower than what the math said, went with 4.88s and 37s and I would do it again 100 times over. Lower is better!

I’m happy to hear that you like your lower gears. For small tires the gears I got should give me quite a bit of bottom end grunt, along with a decent, maybe 2800rpm stall, converter.

That will help make up for the fact that my engine should make most of it’s power in the mid range to top end.

I’ll be honest, I’m not, but as long as you’re happy that’s all that really matters. It’s just not my thing, but I’m sure it’ll still be an awesome build.

I like where you're going with it. I'm contemplating robbing the 350 out of Way Cool Jr to put in Roscoe, and if I do, I'm considering either an L92 swap or a 383 build.

I'm not quite as excited as i was previously. Looking forward to see how it goes together and the end result, definitely so. Not exactly my cup of tea but still an attractive build to me.

Usually the sport truck thing isn’t my thing either. But the high powered AWD thing is. I guess we’ll see. But it definitely will be different from most other trucks out there.

That's what has me still watching. At first it was exactly the kind of truck I would have built for myself, now it's not but it's still interesting because it's more unique. Especially since you mix and match factory options from other trucks to make one super truck. That's always been my favorite kind of hot rodding.

Same here. I’m trying as much as possible to stick with mostly factory Chevrolet stuff.

It would definitely be going faster if I didn’t have 10 other household projects going on at the same time.
