Well I pulled the trigger and ordered some **** today…so at this point I can take a break from going back and forth with myself on which way I should go with this and that! Lol
The 411 swap has been done and the engine is at the machine shop…
So any tips/opinions/advice from y’all on the rest of the exhaust starting from coming off the back of theses long tubes I ordered??? X, H, true duals, CATS, mufflers…to the tips, which I plan on having em dump under the bed after going up and over the rest end…
Also I wanna hear yalls 3 cents on on gaskets, bolts, etc…etc…

I just rebuilt a 98 .I have long tube, deleted cats welded an extension for the rear 02s. Found a muffler on ebay that is 2 in 2 out but was an x pipe on the inside. Sounds good not to loud.

That cam is for a big block. Did you call and talk with Comp Cams before you ordered? I won't order a cam without asking the cam grinder first. It's a good sanity check. Also, those heads are sold each. You got two, right?

I actually ordered the cam from Jegs and I ordered the small block…I was just cutting and pasting links from off of Summit and wasn’t paying attention…good catch though, and yes I did order 2 of the heads…thanks again for looking out!

Then it sounds like you're on the right track. Make sure they magnaflux the block.

For exhaust, I'd go 2.5" all the way out.

I used Cherry Bomb Salute mufflers, and they don't quiet the exhaust very much, but they do make the tone mellower.

I used a cheap Jones x-pipe.

I used Walker catalytic converters, but one has already blown chunks, so I'm not sure that I recommend them.

One Summit u-bend cut in half gives you the two 90° pieces you need to carry the driver's exhaust to the passenger side.

I split the exhaust with Walker ball flanges.
