My bad, you're right on the front axle but it was a 5.3L so, we're both 1/2 right :waytogo:
You’re right about the 5.3. Apparently it was a LM7 crate engine from Powertrain Products.

I actually already have a LM7 as well. I just need to decide if I want to keep it for another project or sell it to make a little room in the garage. I only paid $500 for it and it’s complete. So I’ll probably try to find an out of the way place to put it and save it for later. Or I can use the 5.3 in the OBS and save the 6.0. Decisions decisions.

I just ordered my overpriced NP149 32 spline input shaft. I’m going to be using a 4L80E transmission vice a 4L60E and the output shaft changes from 27 spline to 32 spline. Since they never put a NP149 behind a 4L80E from the factory there’s no factory input shaft available. So from my research there’s literally only one place that does it. A place called Modern Muscle Salvage out of Michigan. So I contacted them and paid them. Apparently they’re made to order so it’ll be a couple of weeks before I get it. Which is fine. I have a LOT more to do to get this truck ready.

Got the front clip off. The motor mount bolts are being a huge pain in the ass though.

Took 6 hours. But I had my 16yo bring 2 buddies to help and to learn manly stuff. Since they consider themselves gear heads even though the most they’ve done (besides my son) is replace headlight or tail light assemblies! Lol

But now I have a fancy 6.0 that I need to tear down and rebuild. I think I’m going stupid crazy with it. Like probably 408 stroker and an LSA supercharger on top.

I also decided that I wanted a newly rebuilt NP149 transfer case including a new viscous coupler since I plan on running so much power through it. So I picked this one up off of eBay.

Ok, I know that I’ve been the king of indecision and buying parts but not making any real progress. But I finally think that I have a game plan figured out and a way ahead to start making real actual progress.

I didn’t like the look of the NP149 transfer case that I pulled that had way too many miles on it, so I bought a rebuilt one that also has a rebuilt viscous coupler. So now I’ll sleep better at night! Lol And my 4L80E, 32 spline input shaft should be here within a week or so.

I knew that I wanted to lower it now for the AWD sport truck stance and handling. And I ordered the parts but I have 3 problems. 1. I don’t have a welder worth mentioning nor do I really know how to weld. 2. Even if I had a welder I don’t have 220/240 in my garage to run it. 3. As soon as I lower the truck it obviously will no longer be able to sit on the 33” tires. The reason for the welder is to install the Belltech flip kit. Which puts your rear axle over the leaf springs to lower your truck, but includes cutting the frame to install C notches to allow for axle articulation. You can just bolt them in, but I 100% want to weld mine since I’ll be running so much power.

So I ordered the right tires and should have them installed on the rims by next Friday. Then I’ll have a brand new set of Toyo Open Country AT 3 33x12.50R18’s for sale! Lol

I also ordered some stupid expensive wiring from online to run 100 amps to my garage. This way I can upgrade all of my circuits and also have 240 for a decent welder, plasma cutter, and a super nice 2 stage air compressor. All things I’ve wanted to do and have for a while and finally had a good excuse to pull the trigger on.

Also, I decided on Yukon 4.11 gears for the front and rear and found an all inclusive kit with master rebuild kits for both and the ring and pinions. And an Eaton Detroit Trutrack locker for the rear.

The front drop is just with drop torsion keys. So I got those plus the tool to unload them.

I also went ahead and bought an Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator for under the hood but I’ve got a while before I’ll be on to that part.
