Which company makes the best coilover kit? QA-1 vs. Ride Tech vs. React vs. Elevated Concepts vs.... any others? Traction, ride quality and lowering is what I consider in my evaluation. Does each co. basically give you the same outcome? Why is one co. better than the next? Thanks for any help, much appreciated.

After doing a little homework (please correct me if I'm wrong about any of this) I see that the Elevated Concepts and the React systems are more of the traditional 4-link/panhard bar setups. I would prefer myself to go with something more sophisticated. The QA-1 is adds a torque arm, whereas the Ride Tech systems offers a wishbone design. So now the question is which is better? In terms of handling, ride quality, lowering ability.

I asked this same question a while back and got little response from people who have had coil overs much less be able to compare the brands. I went with Aldan Coil Overs with a mix match of other parts to complete my set up. Its up to you on how much you want to spend and what your specific needs are... like front end width, rear set up etc etc.

Here was my thread

Thanks for that link. It was helpful but the question remains. Torque arm vs. wishbone what are the benefits of each and is one "better" than the other? IS there anyone who has had both?

So I went with the Ridetech full coilover kit for my '96 stepside. I've only done the rear so far, and truck is in paint, so no opinion yet. I can say the rear portion of the kit went on without any issue; and the components are definitely quality.

You've had some time with these now, how are you liking them?

I'm in the process of getting the ProPerfomance brake kit installed and replacing the worn out suspension. I'm between the steetgrip or going all out with coilovers.

Just now seeing this. Project has been delayed and just got the bed back on yesterday. Have not driven truck yet, but hope to get to alignment shop soon. Will say that all suspension components and brakes installed without issue. Good quality stuff.

I'm not installing the rear wishbone yet just to save money for other more pressing things and will have it done at a later time, but I'm getting these brakes and front coil overs installed very soon. That said, what are those seats because they look AMAZING and I might need to get them, especially if there's a middle seat option.

I looked at QA1 set up but it won't work with the 454 14 bolt rear. Pretty sure the React set up is for the 3 inch axel housings. I guess I could have made that work but since Ridetech made the effort to fab a kit for a 14 bolt I went with that. Happy so far. Only about 100 miles and no potholes yet and handles very well.
