Was looking at this kit recently for my 94 Sierra. Is this stroker kit good? It seems like it’s both a bore and stroke kit, it is 355 compared to 350. I’m gonna use it as a fun machine, maybe a “rally” truck. Only thing I think is missing is new heads or is that only the big bore/stroke kits?

Forgot the link, was too happy to press the post button :33: https://www.coasthigh.com/Chevy-355-Flat-Top-4-0cc-Pro-Street-Kit-p/12335-ps-c355.htm

A 350 bored .030" over is a 355, and the specs list the factory stroke of 3.480". You need to be looking for a crank with a 3.750 stroke.

Also, that kit is for a two-piece rear main seal, and all our small blocks are one-piece. The cranks aren't interchangeable.

Whatever kit you get, you want to call the seller and find out which crank balancer and flywheel/flexplate you'll need. The parts are different between a 350 and a 400, and which parts you need on your 383 will be determined by the kit.

I was bench racing in my head last night and found this kit. Note that the second link is for having the rotating assembly balanced. Under $1450 for the kit and balancing.

Thanks for that info, I might contact the company later this week. I think they sell short blocks and maybe long blocks?

If you're looking for a stroker kit Scat is selling the forged 3.8" stroker crank used in the HT383e for $450 (+$72 shipping) through their clearance arm. 4 available as of this posting. Was 5 but mine arrived last week so now 4. You still need pistons and rods so not a kit but getting a forged crank for a cast cost puts you that much ahead.

Coast High Perf had a good reputation when I and my friends were dealing with them 15 years ago or so.
Not sure of their reputation now.
They were a good source of ford knowledge and engine kits when I was dealing with kit car cobras.
Never dealt with them for a long or short block - only the rotating balanced engine kits.
The owner (Mark?) was very helpful, and also owned a custom piston manufacturer (Probe?)
Might want to do a search on corral.net for some more recent feedback.
Good Luck with your build
