The Kenwood KMM-BT328U is sitting here under my desk, and I want to thank @slovcan and @Wh4t3v3rs for recommending it, as well as @Frank Enstein, @AK49BWL, @DerekTheGreat, @618 Syndicate, @OB1214, and @Eveready for their input. I'm going to have to engineer a rear support for it, but installing it is also a goal for this weekend.

Hi Erik,

Did you look in the box yet? No rear support necessary. It's only about the size of a pound of butter! However, I did get the mounting kit that allows its cradle to fit in the dash and the stereo to just slide in. The harness was a cakewalk, too.

Edit: Oh, yeah, I put in a generic miniature USB drive with my music on it, but that only lasted about 9 months before it failed and caused all kinds of weird screeching noises from the speakers. I've since put in this USB drive and all is perfect again.

Hmmm, that's weird, too. I pasted an Amazon link for the drive, but I can't see it. Oh well, it is this one

Cool looking truck, I like those wheels. Whomever put them on there got the offset right.
It's a "Regency Conversion" truck. Likely it was sold with them. I like the fact that it's a square setup. Any wheel and tire will fit at any corner.

What did you use to remove the body side molding?
Being a conversion truck, I don't think it ever had side moldings. The adhesive I'm removing is from the fiberglass side steps that were long gone when I bought the truck.

Yeah, it's fairly light, but the only thing I have to support it is the plastic surround in the dash. I'd really like a little rear support.

My Reserve unit's "Family Day" is tomorrow, and I worked on WCJr past sundown this evening trying to get it finished up. I'll get pictures tomorrow and probably post them on Monday.

The center console is finally "installed". I had to cut it down further than I wanted, but it fits great and looks like it'll be extremely usable. At some point I'll have to pull it back out and trim it out nicer. The front end of it is cut open, but it's not readily apparent when you sit in it. As of right now it's sitting in place and I haven't put screws into the mounts.

I played with the wiring an hour or so before I figured out I'd wired the seat grounds to power. Waiting two years to get that part done wasn't a wise idea, but function comes before form, and the truck had a lot of other issues that were more important. When I finally got the correct wires grounded, the seats still weren't working. I fiddled with them a bit and realized the relay switching power on the cigarette lighter, inverter, and seat heaters wasn't working either. I checked the ground stud and discovered it wasn't actually grounded. Doh! I moved the grounds and the seats work! I quickly moved the seats forward and spent the last few minutes of light scraping the nasty faded tint off the back windows. I've been wanting to scrape that garbage off since I bought the truck - and I should have done it before I installed the seats. Vacuuming up the tint dust took almost as long as the scraping.

I did get one side of the truck completely cleaned of the side step adhesive, but it's been a busy week and I started physical therapy for my shoulder, so I was limited on how much cleaning I could tolerate in a day.

I did do some touch-up on the interior with the Duplicolor Vinyl paint I bought for Roscoe. That's the reason I'm painting both interiors alike - touch up is crazy simple.

The custom built frames for the working Cadillac power seats with drawers put me over the top for "best interior". The list of mods hanging over the grille helped, as did me being willing to chat with anyone who had questions about the truck. It was an awesome day because it's also our unit's 50th anniversary and they held a reunion for former Okies. I got to visit with a lot of my mentors who I haven't seen in years. Exhausted and going to bed now.

I love that roof console, my 94 doesn't have one but I have thought of it a lot (my 89 might not either, I'm quite oblivious to that stuff). My 94 isn't a Regency but it's something like it, I'll look on the vin tag when I go to get some wasp spray. Those suckers have no mercy and they plant their home right at the door to my shop
