So omw to work this morning I was in 4wd because it was POURING out. Everything was fine until I was making a left into the parking lot. There was a lot of resistance, almost like my wheel was rubbing on the bumper (it doesnt do this in 2wd) and then when i went to pull into my parking spot it was like i had NO brakes. Like all the way to the floor and when i was finally stopping the parking brake light came on and shut off when i took my foot off the brake.

I wouldve used the search function but honestly i wouldnt even know what to type .

Any ideas? All input/advice is very appreciated.

Thank You.

The brakes returned to normal and regained pressure after parking* i shouldve said that. I just had the calipers replaced I hope they arent sticking.

Any idea on the wheel resistance while turning?

There is no differential or viscous coupler between the front and rear axles in these trucks, so you should never use 4WD on pavement. Modern tires get excellent traction on wet roads, so you likely experienced wheel hop/binding when you turned. As a test, you can repeat the action on a dry road and see if the symptom returns.

Get under there and look around, Obviously some thing happened, check the caliper bolts ond other chassis parts. were the caliper slides greased to allow the caliper to float freely? I hope you find something.

I didnt know that, I was always told 4wd should be used in snow and heavy rain. Now i know. Thank You.

I would hope the shop greased the slides. They also replaced the lines. I recently had pretty much every front end component aside from lca replaced. I hope i can figure it out too. Thank you

I would bet money that the shop didn't clean the caliper guide pins, pin boots, caliper where the guide pins insert, and then grease the caliper guide pins and the boots with silicone grease. And if that is not done, given enough time — we're talking decades — there will be metal-on-metal contact between the pins and the calipers, and that is going to cause brake problems (described as “sticking calipers”).

If I were you, time to disassemble your brakes and inspect. Your life is on the line, literally.

I use Honda silicone grease P/N 08C30-B0234M for lubricating caliper slide pins and the boot.

Cleaning all the components properly is another process entirely.

The parking brake light doubles as a brake system warning light too. It will turn on when the brake proportioning valve moves. This happens when a brake line part or cylinder leaks. Also can happen with air in the system. As stated, please check your brakes.
