Overtime, some arms kinda weld themselves to the posts.
Dis-similar metals = corrosion. Might take a few doses of PB Blaster or Moove-It over a couple days to let it soak in. Couple whacks with a dead-blow hammer before they come off.
When it's nice out, I take my wiper arms off for an even greater field of vision. Put 'em behind the seat.
Wanted some post covers, but not any billet caps. They use a set screw & I could see that passenger side being a bit of a PitA to remove, especially during a sudden deluge.
Didn't like most of the ones I've seen, anyway.
Sooo...5/8" table leg slides. Hardware store. 4 for $1.99!
And black makes things disappear.
They're even hard to see in a pic!

The Motor Vehicle Act here requires vehicles to be equipped with wiper blades. Coastal rain forest.
I've had cops say..."Hey. You have no wipers!"
"Yea? So?"
"What do you do when it rains?"
"Drive faster."
For some reason, they don't seem to find that funny.
Then they'll get all technical & go digging through the MVA.
"Look. It says right here...'A motor vehicle, except a motorcycle, equipped with a windshield shall be equipped as required by section 7.05 (3) with a windshield wiper or wipers in good working order.' "
"Yup. Exactly. You're right. That's what it says.
But...read closer. The act only says 'equipped'. It says nothing about 'installed'. The blades ARE in the truck. Soo...'equipped'."

FYI they didn't change in 94 . . . at least on mine they didn't.
Can't recall 100% but I believe my last 1994 had the "post" style, too. Too many trucks, too many years. However, since they are directly swappable parts with no appreciable appearance or functional difference, these are the types of things that could have been "running" changes during production years.

I used to keep a drum brake adjuster tool wrapped with masking tape around one end for gently prying beneath the arm where it mounts. Usually did the trick. Had that one leftover from way back in my 60's truck days. The wiper tower is pot metal, they have been forever, and yeah they will break if you're not careful. Since the GMT400's are retained by that little safety clip, I'd say it's probably safe to use a very small (and I mean very small!) amount of anti-seize lubricant wiped around the splines to avoid problems in the future.

Did the upgrade this weekend. Can't believe I've been dealing with dangling wiper blades all these years. Cost me $12.
